Unique Cool Pot designed for Pleurothallid orchids.Mount the plants on the outside of the pot.These clay pots were designed and made by hand specifically to help you grow spectacular Pleurothallids -- orchids that grow well mounted, but like to be a little cool and a little damp.The outside of the pot is somewhat rough, designed to make it easy for plant roots to attach to the pot. The inside is hollow. Fill the pot with water, and because the ceramic is porous, the water will seep through and help to keep the roots cool and damp.The pots have three small holes at the top, so that you can hang the pot from a wire if you like, or loop a plant label through.We've been using these for a while, and we are having better luck with our Pleurothallids.We started making and using these pots several years ago and the difference in how well our pleurothallids grow and bloom in them is amazing.These pots are hand made and there will be slight variations in size and color.You are purchasing a small pot, measuring about 6 inches high and about 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter. We do not supply a hanging wire. Attach your plant using sphagnum moss around the roots, held onto the pot by small strips of old panty hose, fishing line or a rubber band.Pleurothallids are New World orchids that include many suited for culture under lights and inside the home or greenhouse where the proper environment can be created.
