Product Description
The patented FOODY5 Vertical Growing System allows anyone to grow healthy plants just about anywhere, from balconies, decks and rooftops to commercial greenhouses. FOODY is one of the most versatile growing systems on the market today and can be used for traditional growing with topsoil, potting soil, or with an inert growing medium such as coco fiber, hydroton, vermiculite, perlite, rockwool, etc. These media allow you to grow hydroponically (best to use the FOODY5 Auto for this) or even aquaponically (which will require additional equipment). For best results use plants that are 24-inch or less. This includes most vegetables, herbs, flowers and some fruits such as strawberries or ground cherries. Root plants such as carrots and radishes can be grown if using topsoil. Vine plants such as tomatoes, certain beans and melons can be grown in the bottom reservoir with a side trellis to train the vine shoots into it. FOODY can grow many times more plants than you could grow in the same 2 square feet of your garden. The tower portion (above the base) can be mounted on the included ball bearings which allow it to rotate, allowing plants to receive even sunlight, or artificial lighting.FOODY can produce USDA Certified Organic food if a certified organic medium, nutrients and seeds are used. FOODY5 is easy to assemble and includes a base reservoir plus 4 pods, providing a total of 38 growing points.Additional pods are available separately up to a maximum of 5 total, depending on weight of items grown. The pods are made from durable food grade plastic.
